Description

A turkey fruit platter is a fun, healthy, and festive centerpiece perfect for Thanksgiving or any holiday gathering. This easy-to-make fruit turkey tray combines seasonal fruits like grapes, apples, and strawberries into a delightful turkey shape that kids and adults will love. Serve it with a sweet dip for an extra touch of flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe pear (halved, for the turkey body)
  • 1 cup red grapes (halved, for tail feathers)
  • 1 cup green grapes (halved, for tail feathers)
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks (for tail feathers)
  • 1 large apple (sliced, for tail feathers and legs)
  • 68 strawberries (1 for the head, others for tail feathers)
  • 1/4 cup blueberries (2 for eyes, extras for decoration)
  • 1 small orange (peeled, 1 segment for beak, slices for tail)
  • 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (for dipping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Place the halved pear cut-side down near the bottom of a large round tray (about 16 inches in diameter) to form the turkey’s body.
  2. Create the Tail Feathers: Arrange the red grapes in a semi-circle above the pear, followed by a row of green grapes, then pineapple chunks, apple slices, and strawberry halves. Layer them to create a vibrant, fanned tail for your turkey fruit platter.
  3. Add the Head: Secure a whole strawberry to the top of the pear with a toothpick to form the turkey’s head.
  4. Make the Face: Attach two blueberries to the strawberry with small dabs of yogurt for eyes. Cut a small triangle from an orange segment and attach it below the eyes for the beak.
  5. Finish with Details: Place two apple slices or orange segments at the bottom of the pear for legs.
  6. Optional Dip: Serve with a small bowl of vanilla yogurt on the side for dipping.
  7. Display: Chill your turkey fruit platter in the fridge until ready to serve, and add blueberries or extra fruit as garnish just before presenting.

Notes

  • Use seasonal fruits like cranberries or clementines for a Thanksgiving twist.
  • To prevent apple slices from browning, dip them in lemon juice before arranging.
  • For kids, add marshmallows or candy eyes instead of blueberries for a playful touch.
  • This turkey fruit platter pairs well with a turkey veggie tray or thanksgiving cheese ball for a full holiday spread.
